Multifunctional Room

Multifunctional space for children and guests
This room was primarily designed as a retreat for the children, but it can also be used for Airbnb guests when needed. An open-concept layout with functional areas was important: a small kitchenette, a dining table, a cozy reading corner, and plenty of storage for toys and books.
Planning process
The planning began with a clear briefing and the available information about the room’s intended use. Based on this, I created a moodboard visualizing the color schemes, materials, and desired atmosphere.
Next, several SketchUp designs were developed, testing different furniture arrangements and layouts. The goal was to create an open-concept space that harmoniously combines a small kitchenette, a dining table, a cozy reading corner, and ample storage for toys and books. Thanks to my experience as an Airbnb host, I was able to directly incorporate guest use into the planning.
The furniture and accessories were deliberately chosen to be traditional, emphasizing the apartment’s old-world charm. Through this process, a versatile and cozy room was created, offering comfort, retreat areas, and functionality for both the children and temporary guests.
