Functionality meets historic building charm
In this classic apartment living room, the dining table that was previously in the kitchen needed to be integrated. To create space, a display cabinet was removed, and additional storage was added through extended shelving. A tailored lighting concept and custom furniture complete the room, combining functionality with the distinctive charm of the historic apartment.
Planning process
The collaboration began with a phone call for the briefing and an exchange of key information via messenger. Based on the clients’ wishes and requirements, I first created a moodboard to visualize the desired atmosphere and color palette of the room. Building on this, several SketchUp designs were developed to explore different furniture arrangements and layout concepts.
Using the moodboard and the designs as a basis, product research was carried out, and the drawings were precisely adapted to the selected furniture, shelving, and lighting concepts. With the help of AI, impressive renderings were created from the drawings, allowing the clients to vividly experience the effect of their new living room.
The successful planning of the living room inspired the clients to have me design additional rooms in their apartment, leading to exciting follow-up projects.
