Bedroom

From Concept to Completion
For a client in a small, dark half-timbered house, a cozy bedroom was created featuring voice-controlled lighting. Mid-height furniture provides storage without visually shrinking the space. Landscape artwork and a large mirror enhance brightness and a sense of openness, while warm light sources create an inviting atmosphere.
Planning Process
The project began with an in-depth conversation with the client to understand the room’s challenges and her specific wishes. The bedroom is relatively small, yet the existing 160 cm-wide box spring bed needed to remain in use, leaving limited space for large wardrobes. Additionally, the low ceiling of the half-timbered house excluded the use of traditional hanging lamps.
To make the space both functional and cozy, only low storage furniture such as dressers and closed shelving units were planned. This keeps the room from feeling cluttered and maintains a light, airy look. Several smaller light sources provide a pleasant atmosphere and can be conveniently controlled via voice commands.
The color palette was chosen to be soft and calming, with beige and white tones. Golden accents add an elegant touch.
Given the historic character of the half-timbered house and the needs of an older couple, a traditional style with decorative furniture and accessory elements harmonizes particularly well with both the building and the residents’ lifestyle.
The client is very satisfied with the planning, and implementation is scheduled for September 2025.
